Pain scales seem to focus mainly on descriptive attributes such as "excruciating" or "moderate" but I thought I'd try one based on 'actual' painful conditions that have somewhat dependable levels of pain.

1. Paper cut
2. Ache
3. Bruise
4. Sore throat
5. Deep cut
6. Stomach Ache
7. Headache
8. Ear ache
9. Pulled muscle
10. Sprained finger
11. Toothache
12. Bach ache
13. Sprained ankle
14. Broken rib
15. Broken bone
16. Surgical recovery
